Here is a glance at a couple websites I recently designed for two communities on opposite sides of the country. Working with the team that would implement the coding, the trick was to build the pages out in a series of interchangeable blocks so as to maximize the design within their rigid framework. The design work here went beyond just font, color and informational hierarchy, and included defining the community demographic, working with a copywriter to develop the community “voice”, and balancing stock imagery alongside existing site photography to develop each community’s distinct brand.
